Terms of Service
These terms apply to the Qamishlo private beta. They are a practical agreement for testers, not formal legal advice, and may change as the product evolves. By using the beta you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
The service
Qamishlo is an invite-only audio learning app that generates personalized micro-courses and supports mid-lesson questions. The beta may be incomplete, unreliable, or unavailable without notice.
Eligibility and invites
- Access requires a valid invite token issued by the operator.
- Invites are personal, revocable, and may include daily spend or usage caps.
- Do not share, sell, or publish your invite token.
- We may suspend or revoke access at any time, with or without cause.
Private beta / as-is
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” for testing. We make no warranties—express or implied—about accuracy, uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, or that AI-generated lessons or answers are correct, complete, or safe for any use. Do not rely on Qamishlo as professional, medical, legal, or safety advice.
AI-generated content
Courses, narration, and Q&A answers are generated or assisted by AI (including Microsoft Azure OpenAI and, when configured, ElevenLabs). Content can be wrong, biased, or incomplete. You are responsible for how you use what you hear or read.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass invite, auth, spend, or rate limits.
- Probe, overload, or disrupt the API, storage, or other testers.
- Use the service for illegal activity, abuse, or to generate harmful content.
- Upload or speak content you do not have rights to process.
- Reverse engineer the service beyond what applicable law allows.
Permissions and device features
The Android app may ask for microphone (spoken questions), activity recognition and Bluetooth (optional commute reminders on-device), and notifications (course-ready / nudge alerts). Declining permissions limits features but does not by itself terminate these terms. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Your content
You retain rights to text you submit (for example custom subjects or questions). You grant us a license to process that content to operate the beta—including sending it to AI providers—and to store generated courses and Q&A as described in the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gidrono / Qamishlo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the private beta. Our total liability for any claim relating to the beta is limited to zero dollars (USD $0) or the minimum amount required by mandatory law, whichever is higher.
Termination
You may stop using the beta at any time. We may end the beta or your access at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including limitation of liability and acceptable use) survive termination.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material updates will bump the version shown in the app’s accept screen. Continued use after you accept a new version means you agree to the updated terms.
